Wide Wednesday: Infrastructure
I think this fisheye view shows a fair bit of infrastructure. On the extreme right is a footbridge over the main line as it goes through the suburbs of Newcastle on its way to Edinburgh. On the left is the bridge which carries the Metro line (with its 1.5KV DC power supply just visible) over the main line - with a Metro train going towards the city centre. Underneath is the main line itself with its 25KV* AC electric power supply.
I decided that it had more impact as a gritty monochrome with a colour pop.
Many thanks to steveng for hosting Widwed in Bobsblips's absence.
*Local light railways tend to favour a lower voltage DC supply whereas long-distance trains are generally better using a higher voltage AC. More here if you're interested!
