Shining Gum

"Mountain ash" is a generic term for especially tall and straight species of Australian eucalypt. This is a glimpse at a stand of "shining gum" which is native to south eastern Australia and which is commonly found here in the Blue Mountains. They are beautiful trees which can grow up to 60 metres tall and often show long strands of peeling bark.
