The sun doesn't shine on all in Alohaland
Alohaland is Paradise for me and many others, but not for all. There is a huge number of homeless people here, and life for them is hard, very hard. Homelessness is not just for the totally down and out, the losers who can't make a go of it. People become homeless for many reasons ... losing their job and having no savings to fall back on, falling ill and having no health insurance to cover the costs, and so on. This man was sleeping in the pathway that leads from our very comfortable/wealthy neighbourhood to the beach and instantly exemplified for me the immense contradictions of life in Alohaland, as elsewhere.
