Oma

This is my Dutch grandmother (Oma), photographed on a day out in Scheveningen in the year I was born. How glam is she, aged 68?! She scrubbed up well into her 80s, preferring American clothes which she bought when visiting my uncle who had emigrated in the 50s, but here she's the epitome of 60s chic for the more mature lady ;-)

She always absolutely hated having her photo taken, though! I'm sorting through a large archive of family photographs which I have recently inherited, and there's only a tiny handful of her smiling.
