Sunday: Gig Harbor Marina

Well, we caused a flurry of excitement this morning by admitting to fellow guests at the hotel that we weren't familiar with string cheese (which was on offer at the breakfast buffet).  Before we knew it, we had quite a group gathered round our table extolling the benefits of string cheese and information on the various ways you can eat it.  It also opened up a seemingly endless conversation about did we eat in the UK if we didn't eat string cheese.......by the end, we kind of regretted saying anything!

We spent the day exploring Gig Harbor, which is charming and cute.  Amongst other things, it also has two excellent used bookstores - always a favourite place for us to spend time.

We always like to pick up a few local beers that we can't get in BC.  While doing so today, the store assistant told us that, if we liked beer, we had to try the 'Local Boys Taproom' so we headed there this evening.  We're so glad we did as it's one of the quirkiest places we've been to.  It's a small taproom behind a grocery store but it sells nothing other than Washington beers - it's more like a shed, than an actual bar, but it was fantastic.
