Rally for Not Our President, Not Our Emergency

About 250 people showed up for a rally to #BlockTheWall. There was a brass band, some Aztec dancers, several speakers, and this bit of street theatre: a dramatization of Border Patrol taking children from their parents, performed by Francisco Aguirre and his wife and two children with a group of allies. In one of the photos I made of the Aztec Dancers, the moon and a construction crane tangled in the feathery headdress of one of the dancers. Extra.

Spirits were high. There was a moment of silence for Stu. And then, toward the end of the evening, we learned of the suicide of another activist. The community is staggering with the grief of these two losses.
