Supply the Missing Word

The motto of the Burgh of Tayport is
Te oportet alte ferri ("It is incumbent on you to carry yourself high"),
a pun on Tayport at auld Tay Ferry.

After driving California Girl to the railway station, I drove to Tayport to recycle the latest collection of empty glass bottles and jars. I then decided to add to today’s step total and came across the crest on the gate to what used to be called The Burgh Chambers. Tayport Burgh was abolished in 1975, and it is good to see that the coat of arms is still in existence and maintained.

The Ferry finally closed in 1920.
