On the Terrace

A few days in Madrid. We drove down last night and stayed in the hotel right next to the Terminal at Stansted, which made for a nice easy start to the journey, but obviously there was still the usual period of orientation. Our apartment has a terrace though, which is brilliant (you still mostly need your jacket if you're to drink your coffee out there but, hey, it's still pretty good for February), and our neighbourhood seems to be rich in bars, cafes and the kind of shops where you can buy empanadas, old rockabilly records and vintage clothing sold by weight. And just a shortish walk, down past the metro station, to the Gran Via - yes, I think this might do very well indeed...!
