Oranges and ... lemon groves !
As the temperature climbed so did we into the volcanic spine of the island. It was surprisingly populated presumably to provide respite from the summer heat. The lush vegetation abounded everywhere.
By contrast the mini metropolis that is Las Palmas tested all my left hand driving skills, narrowly avoiding a police ticket when caught in a box Junction (with the police car behind us), and nearly ran over a pedestrian exercising his right to launch, unsighted to the driver, headlong into the road.
The afternoon of family fun on the beach and in the sea more than made up for the mayhem of Las Palmas!
