Love
House sitters arrived around 1.00pm so by the time they'd had the tour and we'd had a chat is was close to 2.00 before I actually left. No biggie. The fires have meant that SH6 through Wakefield is closed so the detour took me all the way to Motueka then around the back of the fires using the back roads, eventually rejoining SH6 at Kohatu - not too far along the road to my first stop for this trip - Kawatiri Junction. It's a historic location, significant as a railway station serving the railway that went nowhere. Apparently it used to be quite a thriving wee community but now, just open space, the old station platform and a relic of an old bridge that declares 'Love'. Nice.
