Valley of the Moon Winery
When the sun shines, the most important thing is to get out in it. My friend Tobi invited me to join her in the Valley of the Moon vineyard to meet her friend Kim who is a friend of the vineyard manager there. We met, set up our folding chairs and collected recently pruned canes and made grapevine wreaths. It's not as easy as Kim made it look,, but after a couple of hours of gathering and bending and weaving and poking I was able to produce one passable wreath. There are a few shots extras.
It certainly beat knitting and watching the rain, which will be returning soon. I hope it won't happen tomorrow as OilMan is hosting our two boys and Dana's husband tomorrow for 'brewery crawl.' Matthew particularly wants to go to the new Russian River Brewery in Windsor where they make Pliny the Elder. In Santa Rosa people have lined up around the block in the rain and waited hours for a single ten ounce glass of Pliny the Younger which Russian River makes in limited quantities for the first two weeks of February. Now that there is a new location people still line up but the addition of a new location has lessened lines in the old Santa Rosa location. Jim doesn't like beer and will be the designated driver. We'll make sure he gets a good bottle of wine when we all assemble here for dinner tomorrow night.
It will be a busy weekend....
