Local hero

Another busy day today.  I have been up since 5.30 and at the triathlon work sponsors.  For the first time they included para athletes.  These athletes are so inspiring.  I have chosen this shot of our local girl Lauren Parker (or Loz) just after she crossed the line.  She won the Oceania Paratriathlon but clearly was emotionally exhausted here.  She was an elite triathlete but suffered a terrible accident in April 2017 and became a paraplegic.  Not to be daunted she has continued in the field she loves and is clearly on to bigger things.

In the extras are Katie Kelly riding tandem with her guide and running.  She suffers from Usher's syndrome and is legally blind.  She also won a gold medal in the 2016 Rio Olympics.  She is a most impressive speaker if you ever get the chance to hear her.

I am pretty pooped.  Over 2000 photos I am trying to process and get some ready to hand over so I will miss your journal tonight and hopefully catch up tomorrow all being well.
