Plum blossom

The wild plums are all coming out in the sunshine and some are almost fully out, looking beautiful against the bright blue of the sky. Like the primroses, they have a simplicity of form and colour that seems perfectly balanced. If we don't get any significant frosts now perhaps this will be a very good year for fruit, assuming it doesn't get too dry. There were quite a few honeybees working their way over the blossom, so they're obviously making the most of this early food supply.
