Monochrome hellebore
Monochrome seems to emphasize the shapes and texture of hellebore flowers, perhaps because without the distraction of colour these qualities are a bit more evident. And hellebores have a particularly robust texture, especially once flowering is over and the seed heads develop and then burst open. The whole process, from flower buds through to seed scattering, lasts for months, so you get plenty of interest from them before they're finally over for the year.
This plant has flowered well this spring, although it has been slow to get going since we moved it to this spot two or three years ago. Once the new foliage comes up later in the year we'll have an idea of how well it might do next year.
