Balkan Anemone
Despite feeling less than perky, I couldn't stay inside for another day while the weather was so unseasonably glorious. I left Pete at home, coughing, and spent a few hours recording round the Rippingale area. It was so lovely to be out among the spring flowers.
I was particularly taken by this vivid clump of Balkan Anemone growing round the base of a tree in Aslackby - looking very cheerful indeed. Elsewhere there were sweeps of crocuses and celandines, which were attracting pollinating insects including the first solitary bee of the season.
