Flight of Fancy..

What a fun day!
Blip buddy KarenC and I had a day trip to London!I left home just after 7 am and got back after midnight.It is amazing really how living in Belgium we can hop on a train and do a day trip so easily.
We met up with some friends from the UK in the Champagne bar at St Pancras-apparently the longest Champagne bar in the world which they have styled being like in a train-however we sat inside as it was really cold!
We had Lunch booked at the Oxo Tower on the South Bank so had a nice meander along the river taking in the German style Xmas market and looking at all the cool street performers.

The views form the restaurant at the Oxo tower are great as you are on the 8th floor.We sat at the bar before our lunch,although the lunch nearly went horribly wrong when they brought 3 burgers to the table nearly raw!Thankfully Harvey Nichols customer service is good and they rushed over to our table and told us we wouldn't have to pay for those burgers and topped up our wine glasses at the same time!Result!

We walked back along the river seeing some crazy people paddling in the river and did a bit of shopping in the Xmas market.As it was approaching dusk everything looked really pretty and we decided to have a flight on the the London eye.
The view are amazing and the light at that time was really pretty!So many photo opportunities but I liked this shot because you can see how high you fly and get an appreciation of the view and the capsules you ride in .

We had a walk down to Trafalgar square and saw the Norwegian Xmas tree which had some people singing carols-very Christmassy!

All too soon it was time to head back to the station to check in for our return trip..Sadly we were a little delayed stopping at the tunnel but we were back at KarenC's just before the end of 12/12.

The next trip is planned for 2013 but we fancy staying over then-more blip opportunities!
