Daffodil Leaves

I was pulling the dead flowers off my daffodils today when I happened to notice these leaves that were caught up in a dead leaf.  Obviously the leaves pushed through this brown leaf on the ground and they got stuck.

Trying to decide which is stronger...the dead leaf for not falling apart as the daffs grew or the daffs for pushing their way through the dead leaf.  I think  the dead leaf wins.  No only for hanging on to the green leaves but because it did this in spite of heavy rain showers and some really bad wind in the last month.

Nature is so fantastically amazing!!
