All in a Day’s Work
It was Storm Ali on 20th September last year that brought the Meadows tree crashing through the boundary wall taking the railings with it, and it has been 5months for the wall to be reinstated. It has taken 2 days to rebuild it but is now looking ready to welcome the railings. From previous experience I hazard a guess that it will take many more months for them to reappear; they seem to be made to order.
It was a shock to the system to have a cold damp haar blanketing the city today and the disposable barbecues newly stocked in view of the recent weather in the local shop seemed more than a little forlorn. There was not a single person lingering in the Meadows today far less sitting on the grass.
