River scene

I was so chuffed late last night to be part of the Water themed community challenge and thank you for all the stars and hearts.  So I took myself down to the rivers edge this afternoon once the rain and grey skies had cleared for this shot.  A watercolour filter to give it a painterly effect for Abstract Thursday.  On the way back to the car I spotted a bird move very quickly into the bushes from a wet ditch.  I hung around and was quite excited to see that it was a Water Rail, I have not see one quite so close up before.  Its little tail sticks up like a wren and it is very colourful, see extra.
