Just in case

you forget what year it is, the year of the pig.

I changed my plans today. It was going to be town in the morning and then to An Bang beach in the afternoon but after breakfast by the pool (where the owners were trialling a buffet option) I decided to have a lazy morning and skip the beach. I saw beach the last 2 days, the sea is quite choppy and swimming when you're on your own is tricky.

I moseyed down the town at lunchtime and was glad of my decision as it was very windy. A final purchase and then visits to 3 of the historic houses, using up my tickets. The Cantonese Meeting House was especially impressive.

Back to Starfruit for a swim and more book, a new one, read by Eleanor Bron. Dinner was interesting as just as I ordered there was a power cut and for a while I was dining by candlelight.

A last visit to the waterfront was next. It was hooching, you could barely get across the bridge. It is very pretty with the boats and the floating lanterns bit so noisy, so many people. But despite that I bumped into the 3 Korean ladies from yesterday's bus, the one I sat next to and her sisters. What are the odds of that?

Treated myself to an ice cream on the way back. Mmm.
