Digging it Out

I peeped out of the blinds this morning to see if Freya was outside. With no obvious presence and the sun about to shine, I thought I would do a quick sortie on my bike to order some flowers for the family funeral on Friday in the hope that the cycle ride would be pleasant. Instead, I found a nasty cold wind blowing across my gills which rendered the outing by bike a mistake.
Still I got the flowers ordered, which was the main thing and I could then retreat to the house to warm up.

The men turned up this morning to dig out the remaining trunk of the tree and its roots from the other side of the newly constructed wall. It took a bit of effort and I haven’t been back to see the crater it must have left.

It still looks very appealing on the other side of the windows, but that freezing wind had me uncharacteristically running to the gym in my skimpy Lycra this afternoon to avoid excessive shivering, but I certainly wasn’t shivering on the way back.
