Surprise surprise!

Well, well, well, two of my friends of many talents played a perfect blinder when they enabled Poppy, my Orcadian friend omts to give me this beautiful stool covered in a picture tweed collage made by Marjory my Edinburgh friend omts.

Poppy and Mike flew in from Orkney yesterday and arrived at my door with the stool in an enormous parcel having made a detour to collect it from Marjory, the very person I had coffee with the day before who never let any hint slip as to what she knew would happen the next day.

Poppy and I had seen the stool when we visited Marjory in January and I said she could put my name on it for some indeterminate time in the future, but here it is now, in the Dower House occupying a Spot the Dog space now that the latter has gone to pastures new.

While Poppy and Mike entertained themselves for the day in Edinburgh. I watched runners taking part in the Meadows Marathon running round and round the park like so many hamsters on a wheel and entertained David on his way to swimming 88 lengths of the local swimming pool. Apparently this equates as 2 Kms although how he keeps tabs on the quantity is a mystery to me
