London Diary Day 2
Early start today after a large breakfast. We had a lot to see and first stop was Tower Bridge. (first extra). It was a bright but chilly morning and we walked along the Thames to Tate Modern. Wow! I could spend a week there. Such an amazing structure before you even go inside. And the variety and quality of the artwork is seriously awesome. Surrealism, magic realism, modern art, photography (Chris Killip, William Eggleston), sculpture, video installation. 2 extras - the second one is of a Syrian boy who is unable to speak but acts out what he has witnessed in his war torn country.
Then into the Borough Market for oysters and cheese and bread and a walk around the little stalls of speciality foods.
Extra is Dorset Oysters and scallops for us. We then had coffee in the Chocolat Hotel which I would recommend.
The main pic is the Shard (well most of it).
Tasty Indian dinner and exhausted now
Weather started out bright and sunny - some showers - now quite cold.
