Cowboy Builders III

A bitterly cold day today (for us Southerners) I gather it was -9 in some parts of Scotland. Not wanting to stray far afield I popped round the corner to see how they're getting on with this house. (For latecomers the story starts here and continues here.

Talking to the gaffer in charge about the human cost he was saying they managed to get the cherry picker into the loft to rescue a tin trunk full of memorabilia.

They also managed to get a wardrobe full of clothes out of the first floor, rescued passports and laptops for the Australian tenants on the ground floor and a filing cabinet to save one chaps business. They sifted through the rubble and managed to find watches and other trinkets in the rubble.

So they seem to have done amazingly well. Still a huge shock for the occupiers, one was in the shower at the time of the first shock, another evacuated in shorts and T shirt. The neighbours may be back home for Christmas, but don't bet on it.
