Blossom
It didn’t matter that it was a wet, dreich morning, this doorway brought a delightful feeling of spring to Bruntsfield as I wasted time hoping the flower shop would open roughly at the time it said on their door, so that I could make sure the wreath I ordered went to the correct funeral on Friday as the florist only had my surname, not Richard’s.
On the way home I was tempted by a small freshly baked muesli loaf of bread in an Artisan bakery shop. I bought one 2 days ago and with nuts and fruit in it it didn’t last long- no need for any butter or jam. It was perfect just eaten plain. However I resisted the urge to buy one again, it is better to keep it as a special treat. Sometimes I can be sensible.
