Two Gentlemen !
I didn’t chose the best weather day to go to Edinburgh on a recce!!
Foul heavy rain clouds around the ankles kind of day!
Arrived in Edinburgh by train & first stop into the City Art Centre to view the wonderful B& W photography exhibition from 1950/60s it finishes on 17th March.
Hot footed down to Holyrood Palace there’s a new audio guide with a screen the size of a mobile to listen & watch for visitors , full of lots of info , guiding the visitor from room to room with interesting facts. Many of the paintings have been moved around inside the rooms, there’s something for fans of MQS , The Favourite , Victoria & Outlander all of these films or series are bringing thousands of visitors ! In addition several members of the Royal Family give there views on what the Palace means to them. I enjoyed it. Then I popped into view the Charles 11 collection at the a Queens Gallery . Walking back up the Royal Mile the rain stopped , the sky brightened to a lovely afternoon as I passed by one of my favourite statues in Edinburgh Robert Fergusson a young poet who died tragically young in 18thc I thought the gentleman with the yellow umbrella was as dapper as young Robert!
Met one of my lovely guiding friends for late lunch & then trained it home to find the clouds hadn’t lifted at all & it’s now heavy rain!! Oh tomorrow is another day!!
