Adventure window!

A day of exploration in the company of two charming American sisters who are avid Mary Queen of Scots fans!
A good way to spend International Women’s Day!
After visiting Mary’s house in Jedburgh where she stayed in October 1566 ( if you’re visiting the area it’s an interesting visit free of charge with audio tour!) I had arranged for a show round at Borthwick Castle (it’s now for exclusive use) since I visited last about 6 years ago it’s been completely refurbished in beautiful sympathetic furnishings & fabrics of the time! The interior designer is a young talented girl from Newcastle, The castle was the home of James Hepburn Earl of Bothwell , Mary’s 3rd husband
The window is the one she jumped out of when she was trying to avoid capture!!! Drama indeed! The panes of glass are more recent I’m sure!! :) :) !
If you have an opportunity to visit or stay it’s a magnificent castle Michelle The Housekeeper & Anna the F&B manager are so professional & enthusiastic .....it was the highlight of our day!
