Ahoy

This afternoon we went down to the Nelson Marina to met friends Nigel and Linda.  They have bought a launch and have sailed it down here from the North Island where they live.  After exploring the sounds they have come to our side  of Tasman Bay.  It is a very comfortable boat and we sat inside it and where rocked gently on its mooring.  The wind was strong and made an eerie noise in the rigging of the other yachts.  They are in the visitors section of the marina and are tied up near a yacht they had met in the sounds.  That yacht is sailed by a Canadian couple who sailed here from Hawaii.  There is a community of people who live on the sea that I never think about.
We brought our friends back to our place for dinner.  The blip is looking at the unusual cloud bank that was covering the hills behind Nelson.  There doesn't seem to be any rain in it for us.
