Yunnan cultural show

We had an early start and a long drive from Dali to Kunming. After checking in, we walked to an area where exotic pets were for sale. Not my thing.

We are not happy with the hotel which has renovations going on from floor 5 to 13 and our room is on 14th floor. The pneumatic drills as well as banging and hammering would go on till 8pm. But now it is 11pm and furniture is being hauled around loudly somewhere nearby. We have an early start as it is an 8 hour drive tomorrow. Sun and warmth are promised.

After a meal of soup with lots of noodles topped with a hard fried egg, costing £1, we got a bus to the local theatre for the Yunnan cultural show. We loved it and I am spoiled for choice for a blip. There were tiger drummers, amazing dancers in fantastic costumes and the finale was the peacock dance which was beautifully done a bit in the style of the dying swan. It cost £30 each.
