Mili Gorge

Approximately a week after the heaviest rainfall since records began, we walked through the Gorge of Mili. Still a beautiful green spot to visit, but the path and bridges suffered severe damage from flooding and landslides. Thankfully, the water level was now low enough for us the cross the river without having to use a bridge where the bridge was damaged. The “waterfall” on the photo is not really the river, but the water running off the stairs towards the (closed) visitors centre.
We arrived for a late lunch in Chromonastiri and for a moment we thought we had to do without lunch. Luckily, we found one taverna open and had a simple but lovely lunch.
