Rackwick Beach on the Island of Hoy

I'm not surprised that this beautiful piece of applique/machine quilting won a gold award. The photo doesn't really do justice to the artist's craft.

L and I went back to the Creative Craft show this morning .... not to buy this time but to look at the exhibition of quilts, panels and  pictures. 

We stopped for a chat with the lovely lady (extra) who was sewing with one of the oldest sewing machines I have seen .... it made hardly a sound and she didn't have to pay the £20+ for the use of an electric socket.
