Chillin’.
After breakfast Mummy and Daddy went off for a night away at their honeymoon hotel so the grandparents were in charge and Eda
came to church with us. It was a ’Pick and Mix’ children’s service so it was a perfect one to take her to.
She enjoyed watching the musicians and found a ‘baby’ (doll) in the crèche which she loved and played with the kitchen and cups and teapot in the family room afterwards - so much for stereotyping it’s just what she chose. She ate a whole pot of grapes too. During the middle of the service the pick and mix bit comes in when you can go and select what you want to do. Lots of children’s activities as well as more serious ones. Normally I avoid the messy biscuit decorating but of course Eda wanted one. A plain biscuit with orange icing and hundreds and thousands. She did eat the biscuits but the main aim was to lick off the icing and get it everywhere of course. She had a nice time.
The plan was then to go up to Coppice Pond after lunch to see the ducks and swans but the weather has been dreadful. We’ve had some bright spells but with strong winds and within minutes it has changed to rain, hail or snow so we sadly gave it a miss.
So we’ve had a chilled afternoon. Here Eda has climbed into Grandpa’s chair, very comfy and is chatting on the phone which in reality is one of my fridge magnets! She always makes a bee line for these!
She’s rattling her high chair now which I think means she wants her tea! Better get on with it Granny!
