In the bleak midwinter ....

We walked about 6 miles, with the rambling club,  in the Clapham and Ingleborough area.

Although we had checked the weather forecast,  we were surprised to find ourselves in such a winter setting. It went from thick snow to driving hail , and it was very windy on the tops. Quite difficult to find somewhere to sit for lunch, but we eventually got a little break in the weather and sat looking at the lone tree in the extra. 

Although it was cold, we all enjoyed the challenges of the day. The log fire, the Guinness and the cosy pub made up for everything. 

I didn't spend too much time taking photographs. It was best to keep the thick gloves on.
