A roof with a view!

I had a meeting at the Cathedral in Liverpool this afternoon. It was a miserable day when I arrived but by the time the meeting was over the sun had arrived and brought blue skies with it. So I decided to be brave and do something I've wanted to do for a long time and climb the Tower. It isn't much of a climb as a great deal of the climb is in a lift - or two to be precise but there were around 100 steps at the end. A great view all over the city. Lots of shots and it was difficult to choose but the one I have chosen shows the shadow of the Anglican cathedral with the Roman Catholic (Metropolitan) Cathedral at the end of the connecting street. For those unfamiliar with Liverpool the street is called Hope Street and this has been written about much in the past, especially in the years when better links were being established between the Anglican and Roman Catholic communities in Liverpool. 
Currently the cathedral is showcasing the work of Columbian artist Erika Diettes. The exhibition features 20 large-scale black and white shrouds, emblazoned with photographs of women who have been forced to witness the murder of, or violence towards, their loved ones - parents, spouses, siblings and children. In the exhibition literature it tells us Diettes' work shines a spotlight on the survivors, and acknowledges not only their suffering, but their continued faith in humanity.
