You know there's a gale blowing when .....

There is a gale blowing if  Merlin has 'stand up' ears!
Collies have either 'stand up' or 'flap over' ears - Merlin's are definitely 'flap over' - even when he pricks them up in response to something they still flap over at the tip. They only stand up like this in a real gale - such as we had today.
