A New Day

Elcho Castle, Perth

I had an appointment this afternoon at the Eye Department in PRI, so decided we should go early and take advantage of the lovely sunshine to find me a blip:-)  We pass the turning for this castle on the way in to Perth, so this was our detour today.

It's closed until April, but the grounds were open so I had a wander round and took lots of photos.  It is one of the best preserved 15th century tower house castles in Scotland and was the summer home of the Earls of Wemys from Fife.  A few more shots in Extras. Lovely setting on the banks of the River Tay.

On the way there, I spotted the round house in Extras and have been trying to find out what it is.  It was only when I downloaded the photo to my computer that I noticed the sign on the door, which I hope will give more information next time I am over that way.  Isn't it pretty?
