Tide is turning?

(This is a backblip, posted after the Connecticut tragedy.)

As I watched Little Man sleep in his IKEA bed, with Christmas lights wrapped around the top part, and his peaceful "sleepy music" still playing softly from his CD player, I thought of Roger Waters' song Tide is Turning . I thought that maybe Roger is right, maybe our kids "in the glow of their Donald Duck light" are somehow finally safe. It was a truly blissful moment for me.

Pity it didn't last.
