Flooding in Aberdeenshire

We have experienced an early fall of snow followed by a thaw this last week and the rivers are in spate. The fields are flooded and the homes on the Inverurie flood plain are threatened by the very same ingress of water which has been a feature of the landscape for thousands of years. I am surprised that the planners allow houses to be built on such sites.
Fortunately I live on a hill.
