tree

We finally got our tree today from just along the road at Jamesfield. Some slight adjustment with a saw and hatchet, into the base and decorated after lunch. We must be getting better at it as it took only 30 minutes to bung carefully place the many slightly knackered baubles family heirlooms onto the tree.

My father, despite being an engineer, never bought (or made) a good Christmas tree base. Every year would be an exercise in finding a suitable bucket from somewhere in the garden, a selection of stones and half bricks and then getting the tree to stand upright and not fall over. The bucket would quite often be wrapped up to look a little more presentable. I've inherited many things and lots of knowledge from my father however I chose to ignore this particular trait...

They're counting the days now...
