Diary of an Edinburgher

Productive day

Still can’t get over that game yesterday! I actually taped and watched the highlights this afternoon!

Funnily enough, when Kerri and Luke came to pick Archie up, Luke admittedly that he had switched the TV off at half time, only to be rung later by a friend who told him to switch the TV back on!

They walked across the Meadows, with Archie chasing a tennis ball a few times till he couldn’t be bothered any more, and had a big breakfast at their favourite local cafe.

Meanwhile, we had a flurry of activity. We had to clear out the back bedroom, where we'd carefully stacked up paintings and all the stuff from the kitchen. But they need to drill a big hole through the corner of the room and to the outside for the extraction fan... so LOTS OF DUST. In fact, we had to clear it out so that they could get their ladder into the corner. So now we have all the paintings behind the sofa. And we had to move all of their stuff first.

Meanwhile two loads of washing were done and dried. In fact, a most productive day. Who needs a pulley?

In the afternoon we popped round to help Ann and Trixie celebrate Ann's birthday (Extra). We had excellent nibbles, lots of Prosecco, and Trixie was such a good wee girl, though she did have a sup of wine from a glass that was left on the floor. She's such a sociable wee dog, she made sure she went round everybody regularly. Unlike you-know-who, who'd be hiding in the kitchen at such a (noisy) gathering.

All action again tomorrow. We're led to believe that the kitchen will be finished this week, but I won’t hold my breath...
