Diary of an Edinburgher

I have put the level up to 10, which makes it harder work, and I use up 40 extra calories! That's surely worth an extra chocolate biscuit...

Snow flurries all day, in between sunshine, both accompanied by chilly winds, but Becky and Daniel were keen to take Archie out anyway. Here they all are, posing with Daisy the cow, before braving the cold.

Our visitors arrived in a snow flurry. They were confused at the quiet entrance (no barking), but Archie was still out. He gave a little half-hearted yap when he came in, but he can’t really bark with intent if the visitors are already firmly ensconced on the sofas!

A fabulous chicken and sweetcorn soup, with warm bread just out of the oven, set everyone up for an afternoon's activity. Well, activity for some of us. The visitors walked into town (they live in Jersey, so like to see a city now and again). Chances are, they got caught in several of the regular horizontal snow flurries.

JR took Archie out for a wee afternoon stroll, neither of them being rugby fans. I watched all three matches. Brilliant games. Scotland just managed to beat Italy. It's been a marvellous tournament. Which reminds me - we really need a more rousing anthem - ours is like a dirge.

Well done Ireland - Grand Slammers. Roll on the World Cup!

PS Extra. Had to include this shot, sent by his mum, of Rufus after his snowy walk this morning.
