A New Man

I have a new Man in my life! That is the Manfrotto MHXPRO-3WG, Xpro geared head. And what a handsome beast he is! He just feels so good in my hands, I take hold of him and he moves so smoothly. I can gain ultimate control of him by just squeezing and then twisting..

Seriously, though, I'd fallen out of love with my previous Manfrotto pistol-grip, ball-head tripod head. By the time it was tight enough to hold my body and lens, the settings were too stiff for my ageing hands to operate. There had to be a change.

The (other) Man and I are at the NEC in Birmingham for the Photography Show. We came down yesterday with the caravan so we could have a leisurely start this morning. Hang on, did I say leisurely start? We'd done over 2,500 steps before we'd even got in the building! Since my days as a jeweller I'd forgotten the long walk from the car park but at least it's a small show so doesn't take much getting around the hall.

Once I got in the swing of it, fuelled by caffeine, I had a great time. We went to a few talks which were all excellent, made a commitment to a worthy cause, had a mini blipmeet with hildasrose and hubby and made this nice purchase. A very satisfying day.
