Tongueland Railway Bridge
Today's the day ……………………….. for a postcard
Presumably you could have bought this postcard back in the day - featuring what was then called the Tongueland Railway Bridge, near Kirkcudbright.
I came across it online in the Dumfries & Galloway Council Archives and I just had to send for a hard copy because, believe it or not - that's our house in the middle. Of course, it all looks a bit different now because the bridge is no longer a bridge and there's no railway. It's interesting to see that there was once a door at the front of the cottage. That's no longer the case but the rest of it looks much the same.
It's all very interesting (to us at any rate) - and a bit of a claim to fame perhaps ………………?
