St Nazaire Parade
Seventy-Seventh Anniversary
We start at the cemetery where a short service remembers those who died on the raid and were landed at Falmouth and those who died of their wounds on their return to Falmouth. This short service, normally only attended by a few, is always poignant.
The bugle playing the Last Post, followed by Reveille rings out across the cemetery and Swanpool Lake, no echo, really clear.
We then move onto the main Parade in town, always well attended, uniformed personnel, the civic party, veterans and cadets accompanied by a band, all are welcolme.
It’s always cold, always windy, always moving
