Life in Sunny Dubai

Opulence

I've had a very admin morning; sorting things out for G mainly. The other big thing was sorting out a leak in my bathroom which the cleaner tackled for me!

Yesterday, on the way to the dhow cruise, I called in at the post box and got the notification that my HK visa has arrived. As it is registered, I had to go back during office hours to collect the envelope. I can't believe it took nearly twenty minutes and it wasn't even busy. They had these balloons with smiley faces on them on all the counters. Shame they weren't able to deliver better service on International Happiness Day! (There is a huge emphasis on government services delivering happiness over here)

I also started the process to have the Volvo serviced yesterday. The garage needed to order in the oil filter. It arrived today, so I got that done too. I have wanted to see the new light installation in Fashion Avenue in Dubai Mall for ages, so today, we did that.

There are a number of changes in this area of the Mall. The Armani Cafe has gone and in its place is an open area where people can sit and take a break from their shopping and the butterflies hanging from the ceiling have been replaced by fairies! (See my extra). The newly built space dedicated to luxury is well frequented by the locals.

PS. I should record that we've had a smart meter installed today for electricity! (The water meter was done last year).
