Altiplanic Lagoons

A full and very tiring day when we drove up to an altitude of 4300 metres to visit a series of stunningly beautiful lakes.   One of the people on our tour was a keen birdwatcher and kept identifying all sorts of exotic-sounding birds.  The only ones I could identify were the Flamingoes

The main shot is a stitched pano of Laguna Miñiques.  The other lake shot is the end of Lago Miscanti

The solitary Flamingo is a Chilean Flamingo.   The row of four Flamingoes are Andean Flamingoes which are apparently the rarest Flamingoes in the world.

The animal with its baby is a Vicuña.

I was annoyed when I got home to find that my camera had reset itself to low-res jpegs which explains the difficulty I had yesterday adjusting my pictures.
