Anticipation....

Well, we got up early, headed off down to Baddeck Bay and stood on the frozen waters of Bras D'Or Lake, along with a few hundred others, to watch the Silver Dart emerge from it's hanger. The sun shone and it wasn't too chilly (only about -15!!) but the excitement was high..... progress was slow as they had to basically dismantle the front of the temporary hanger.... pretty cool to watch them strip away the front poles holding it up!!!!!

After taxing down the prepared runway, the anticipation was high.... it gathered speed, lifted off a few feet and then down .... and then up a few feet again - then down..... then the front wheel basically collapsed, putting an end to this trial run!

It was a bit anticlimactic, but still a pretty exciting moment to witness - and if the weather co-operates there will be another attempt made tomorrow..... i'll be there for sure!
