No. 10

A total gin-a-thon soaked up by great food with some former work colleagues, lovely to see them all, I've missed their witty banter and wise and sage gin recommendations/experience.

Saw the back end of the students torcher parade on the way home to the train station, a depressing sight, a pretty embarrassed imitation of the parades 70s and 80s heyday.

Aye, that was when your mum would save up the 1ps and 2ps, and you would get excited to see the students visit your primary school the week before in their scary fancy dress, then the parade night, their lit torches making it feel like Christmas, the mad can shaking in your face to part with your 1ps, the zombies, the vampires, the tomatoes, all the crazy costumes, and the floats, decorated to with an inch of themselves in a crazy theme with drunken students hanging off them catching your pennies, endless floats, eating hot chestnuts on the street corner, dancing and stamping your feet to stay warm. But alas what I caught sight of last night was just nae worth it, poor students, they'll not even know what they are mising out on.
