Dear Santa

"For Christmas I wish for world peace and an end to poverty....... oh actually scrub that, can I have some really expensive headphones and designer clothes instead?"

Gone is the sweet little boy who was happy with half a dozen lego bricks from a Bring and Buy sale. Here is the manchild, too young to earn living, but old enough to have expensive tastes. And who would have thought that headphones could be so expensive? What constitutes 'cool' slippers and how "THIN' does a thin jumper have to be?

So much potential for Santa to get this really wrong... and go bankrupt in the process.

And as for me, I'm trying to avoid Amazon as a tax scandal protest and have discovered that lovely local booksellers Blackwells can order almost any book you can get on Amazon and deliver it free of charge. And they pay their taxes. A gift that just keeps on giving!
