The fire is so delightful

My old friend, Alyssa, finally made it to Oxford for a visit. I last saw her for dinner in the dark humid garden of a French restaurant on the shores of Lake Kivu in DR Congo five years ago. She brought lovely gifts from Bordeaux and we sat by the fire catching up on our lives and plans and news of old friends… what a lovely evening.
